5 best cafés that serve breakfast in the South of Gran Canaria
5 best cafés that serve breakfast in the South of Gran Canaria

How well do you know the cafés that serve breakfast in the south of Gran Canaria? I didn’t know there were so many great places until I spent a week in the south of the island, more specifically in Pasito Blanco.

·  MY ACCOMMODATION

So, first things first: this November I stayed in a lovely spacious holiday home in Pasito Blanco for a week and I loved it because it was so calm. I have been working remotely and when I had some free time, I spent it near the swimming pool, doing yoga or eating out.

·  SOUTH OF GRAN CANARIA

The south of Gran Canaria is pretty small, but there are still many undiscovered spots, places and natural monuments. If you are planning to spend some time there, you should definitely get a car and plan some sightseeing tours or hikes. Here you can find out more about the hikes, especially GüiGüi. Moreover, we have already written about 5 best restaurants in the south for lunch or dinner and today I wanted to share with you the list of 5 best cafés that serve breakfast in the south of Gran Canaria.

·  5 BEST CAFÉS THAT SERVE BREAKFAST IN THE SOUTH

Going on a holiday to Gran Canaria or living on Gran Canaria means a daily dose of relaxation and happiness, especially when it comes to culinary experiences.

As I know how important it is for you to start the day with a healthy and freshly made local food, here goes the list of 5 best cafés that serve breakfast in the south of Gran Canaria.

1. Eco Cafetería Anam (Arguineguin)

We had a lovely breakfast in this place. The owners are Italian and I know them from the times my team and I were teaching in the Spar supermarkets. Back then, Eco Cafetería Anam was the place that made me look forward to my lunch break every day…

This time, we had the opportunity to try their breakfast. What an experience!   What to order: All the dishes are just amazing. Pedro had a croissant with vegetables and I decided for “a toasty”, a slice of bread with hummus and vegetables. The flavours were incredible and the best thing is that all the products are ecologically grown.

Then, there are 2 places my dearest friend Lara highly recommended and I have to add them to the list:

2. Calma Café (Avenida de las Tirajanas)

A small place run by a foreign couple, she is from Norway and he is from Holland – they both speak Spanish but if you want, you should definitely try ordering food in English and practice what you have learnt at NikaTeacher.

Their sandwiches are delish and cinnamon rolls are goals. We went there twice in one week because we were amazed by the tasty food, the amazing service and the fabulous vibe.

What to order: Sandwich Calma Especial is my favourite! And don’t leave without trying something sweet:

3. La Colmena (Playa del inglés)

What I liked the most about this place was its decoration and atmosphere. It looks like you are in a different city and the playlist makes it even more special. We came a bit late for breakfast, but they served us an amazing toast with tomato and avocado.

Next to the café, there is an antique / second-hand shop, you can’t miss. What to order: any toasty.

4. Café Regina (Puerto Rico)

Café Regina is always a great option and in my opinion, their coffee is the best coffee on the island. Plus, the food is amazing! I am in love with their sandwich with tomato and pesto and Pedro loves their croque monsieur.

What to order: anything! There is a great variety for breakfast and if you prefer trying something Spanish, their “Spanish tortilla” is definitely a must try. Also, you shouldn’t miss out their carrot cake if you prefer sweet dishes.

They have several coffee shops around the island; you can also find one in Las Palmas.

5. Caffee 83 (San Fernando)

This coffee shop in San Fernando is very special. We grabbed some croissants and a coffee which we loved. The owner told us their most popular dishes are any kind of sandwiches you can see on their counter.

What to order: any kind of freshly made sandwich and something sweet like “danesa” 🙂

As always, I have a bonus for you:

Coffee shop and ice cream parlour Helamore (Puerto Rico, Vecindario, Mogán, Arguineguín)

Panaderia Alemana Bakerei ZIPF (El Tablero)

Paneri (Vecindario)

So, if you are going to spend some time in the south this holiday or next year, these are definitely the places you have to visit!

And as tomorrow is Christmas, I wish you a lovely holiday and I hope some of these places can make your holiday a little different. Let me know which place is your favourite

And if you haven’t seen it yet, here are the best wishes from our amazing team for you!!

See you next week,

Nika
